Privacy Policy – NexDirectory Scanner Chrome Extension
Effective date: February 28, 2026
Last updated: February 28, 2026
NexDirectory (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides the NexDirectory Scanner Chrome extension (the “Extension”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the Extension, how it is used, and your rights.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the NexDirectory Scanner Chrome extension and related extension functionality only.
2. Information Processed by the Extension
The Extension does not collect personal data for NexDirectory’s own analytics, profiling, or marketing.
When used, the Extension processes:
- User-provided configuration values stored locally in your browser: WordPress site URL, Extension App Pass, Optional OpenAI API key, and Import preferences/settings.
- User-triggered page scan/import content from pages you choose: URL, title, visible content, metadata, media/document links, and extracted listing/event fields.
- Operational local data: Draft values, bulk import URL queue, and local logs/diagnostics.
3. How Information Is Used
Information is processed only to provide extension features, including:
- scanning pages you explicitly choose;
- extracting structured listing/event data;
- sending selected data to your configured WordPress/NexDirectory endpoint for import;
- optionally sending selected content to OpenAI APIs when you enable AI extraction/translation;
- storing settings and drafts locally so you do not lose your workflow.

The extension does not load or execute remote code. Executable extension code is bundled with the extension.
6. Data Storage and Retention
Extension settings, logs, queues, and drafts are stored locally in Chrome extension storage until removed by you, extension reset, or uninstall.
Imported content and server-side records are stored by your own WordPress site, under your site’s retention and security controls.
7. Security
We apply reasonable safeguards for extension operation. No transmission or storage method is guaranteed 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your WordPress environment, credentials, and API keys.
8. GDPR Notice
For users in the EEA/UK, NexDirectory acts as a controller for support/contact data and as a processor only where applicable to services you configure. The Extension itself is designed to minimize data collection and does not run NexDirectory behavioral analytics.
Your website may use separate analytics tools (for example, Google Analytics) under your site policy and consent setup.
You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction by contacting us at the email below.
